The Cumin and Coriander
|
Without over analyzing the online bits and pieces, I booked dinner and carried on my day as usual constantly reassuring myself that “the internet doesn’t lie” . Before entering the restaurant I noticed that there was a lack of…how does one say this…cars?! My car was the only car parked on their street side parking bay and it remained that way for most of the evening – yes – unfortunately we were literally, the only table seated and served at the restaurant for the evening.
Disappointing…only slightly because once the food arrived I forgot that we were the only paying table in the restaurant. The food…incredible. There are no other words to truly describe how incredibly wonderful the food was – tasty – professionally prepared and point perfect in every way imaginable! From starters to main and accompanying wine for the meal, everything worked.

Without scratching the back of this little Kensington Gem too much, there is one note that I must make a part from the restaurant itself, yet directly relating to the Cumin and Coriander itself. From the moment we entered the restaurant until the moment we left – some 2-3 hours later – the waiters and managers of the restaurant were amazingly accommodating, friendly and positive – considering we were the only people in the restaurant for the entire evening, they positive attitudes were really commendable despite the poor attendance. Whether this is a marketing issue that needs to be addressed or whether the location needs to be re-evaluated, there is no conceivable reason why that restaurant should not be a full house 6-7 days a week.
