Show your Mum some Love |
|
|
Be it breakfast in bed, a concert at the zoo or a meal at a restaurant, Mother's Day is the time to thank all our moms. Go on, she deserves it.
Mother's Day is quickly approaching and there are a ton of things that one can do to make her day. I mean, she did give birth to you for G-d's sake. So, do her a favour and yourself one as well - you'll feel better about yourself - and treat your Mum to something different over this time of the year. Now, keep in mind the weather hasn't been as pleasant as well all like it to be and if your Mum is as croaky as my own mother is, maybe try to keep to the indoor activities. But, if she is as "strong as an ox" and is feeling adventurous, there are many things you'll be able to par-take in this Mother's Day. |

Brunch, Lunch or Dinner

The Piccolo Mondo Restaurant
|
Now, if you're interested in something slightly more formal and structured, the Piccolo Mondo Restaurant in Sandton City is offering a Mothers' Day special. the special includes set menus boasting 5 course meals on each menu. The overall setting of the restaurant is very formal and sometimes, that could be highly appealing for the more mature and classical "lady in your life". - Relax...I'm not implying she's old...merely educated in the ways of time and experience.
Don't be thrown off by appeal of the set menu, the choices are extremely varied as the meals range from an old English style breakfast to elegant salmon dishes, fantastic main meals such as shellfish and lamb to intricate desserts...how does the sound of cheese mousse or Lindt bitter chocolate fondant tickle your taste buds?
Breakfast is R175 per head for adults and R85 per head for children under the age of 12. Lunch is R255 per head for adults and R100 per head for children under the age of 12.
The Hyatt Regency Hotel is also focusing on brunch. Entertainment will be laid on and each mother will receive a gift.
The meal costs R230 for adults and R70 for children under the age of 12. The Hyatt Regency is located on the corner of Bierman and Oxford roads in Rosebank, remember to find safe, secure parking.
More information: Vanessa Andrews - 011 280 1201.
AND just as an additive, there is a concert happening on Sandton Square - Performed by a quartet, it will feature a selection of classical works, as well as original material by David Houghton.
The quartet consists of:
David Houghton
Peter de Wet on guitar
Magda de Vries on marimba
Godfrey Mcgina on percussion
