If you have never seen a “Mac Vs PC” advert, then you truly have not lived. The campaign has been running for the last three years and has had many of “us” Mac lovers in stitches over the how simple, fun, funky and user friendly the advertising campaign has made Mac’s out to be. The proverbial “PC” has, not so elegantly, played by John Hodgman who throughout the campaign has played the perfect PC – blue screening at any moment and being as complicated and “anal-retentive” as a PC can be (can you feel the “Mac-Lover” coming through there? Thought so…!). On the other side of the technology scale is “Mac”, played by Justin Long, a relatively well-known and celebrated young actor living in Hollywood. The two actors are unbelievably contradictory to each other…it’s hilarious to watch!

Mac Vs PC - Genius...
|
The contradictions are highlighted is every aspect of the two characters, their clothes, the way they speak and of course the image they project and how easily they can be distinguished from one another. All of this is brilliantly communicated through their 30-second to 1-minute-long episodes which always start out with each of them introducing themselves…”Hi, I’m a PC” and “Hi, I’m a Mac” and then it divulges straight into some “new and wonderful” development that PC has apparently stumbled upon and politely, Mac listens and then always has the perfect rebuttal (Mac and Apple orientated of course…) that completely silences “PC”…it’s brilliant, humorous, witty and ‘below the keyboard’, so-to-speak.
The progress and development of “Mac” products can be followed through their videos much like a product development timeline, including the controversial “Windows for Mac’ release in 2009 – not sure why “we” decided to cater for the “peasants”, but I guess World domination does not come without it fair share of sacrifices along the way - *I kid the PC-People*Relax*

“If you’ve been in “Get a Mac” withdrawal since the ad campaign bit the proverbial dust last week, you’re not alone. One More Thing Podcast has created a rather lengthy tribute video to the campaign of the decade.
More than 100,000 people have already taken solace in this little video, so if you’re among the bereft, cease with the shakes: Just plug in your headphones and let the iconic, repetitive strains of this spot’s classic background music envelope you for the next four-ish minutes.”
