South Africa's social and economic spin-off post World Cup 2010:
One of the Winners of our ZAGlamour "Writer's Competition", Nina Hastie is a force on her own and is to be reckoned with...on a very serious level. Okay, maybe not that serious, but the girl does have her darker moments, which is why we love her!
Welcome to ZAGlamour Nina, we welcome your writing

How do you measure success and happiness?:
The other chosen one of the Winners for our ZAGlamour "Writer's Competition", only to be called "The Pundit One" is somewhat of an enigma to us. Firstly, no personal details were given with regards to who wrote the piece apart from a strange profile description (found in "Writer's Profile" by clicki

A Learning Curve:
This past week has been filled with both high’s and low’s for ZAGlamour. We have unfortunately been schooled in the way of research and copy writing as we were confronted with an industry problem that seemed to have eluded us. Approximately three weeks ago, ZAGlamour commissioned a Viral Competition

Worlds Biggest Vuvuzela!!!:
During the World Cup of Soccer 2010, Hyundai took full advantage of the iconic Vuvuzela and created on of the most interactive (via SMS) campaigns South Africa has ever seen. The premise behind the campaign was that all you'd have to do is send an SMS to the activation number for the Giant Vuvuzela.

ZAGlamour's 2nd Bi-Monthly July Issue

ZAGLAMOUR’S 2ND BI-MONTHLY FOR JULY – WITH THE WORLD CUP OVER, WE AT ZAGLAMOUR WOULD FIRSTLY LIKE TO CONGRATULATE THE SPANISH TEAM ON WINNING THE WORLD CUP OF SOCCER 2010 – THEY PLAYED VALIANTLY AGAINST THE NETHERLANDS AND CAME OUT ON TOP – BUT…WHERE DOES THIS LEAVE US? WHERE DOES IT LEAVE THIS COUNTRY? A COUNTRY WHO HAS BEEN GRIPPED BY THIS INCREDIBLE TOURNAMENT…LONG GONE ARE THE “LEAVE-MID-DAY-AT-WORK” EXCUSES AND “TRAFFIC-PROBLEMS”…GONE ARE THE EXCUSES SOUTH AFRICA! SO, WHAT DO WE DO NOW, YOU MAY ASK…WE MOVE ON, WE MOVE FORWARD AND USE THIS SPECTACULAR LIMELIGHT AND OPPORTUNITY TO BUILD AND DEVELOP THIS NATION INTO THE THRIVING BEAST E ALL KNOW IT CAN BE! COME ON MZANSI…WE HAVE MORE TO LOOK FORWARD TO THAN SIMPLY SOCCER AND TROPHY HAND OVERS…TO THE VICTOR GO THE SPOILS, BUT WHO WERE THE REAL WINNERS OVER THE LAST 6 WEEKS…? SPAIN OR SOUTH AFRICA…A NATION WHO OPEN THEIR HEARTS TO THE WORLD AND GAVE A PIECE OF IT AWAY AT THE END!
FROM ALL OF US HERE AT ZAGLAMOUR, CONGRATULATIONS SOUTH AFRICA ON BEING THE BEST HOST NATION WE COULD HAVE BEEN…WE CAN ALL BE VERY PROUD OF ONE ANOTHER!
This, “The Young Blood Edition” of ZAGlamour celebrates many things. For one, we have a country still writhing in the grips of The World Cup of Soccer 2010 and all the positive spin-off of which we all hope each and every one of us can capitalize from and to bring it home, ZAGlamour celebrates the welcoming of two new writers to the ZAGlamour Forum in the shape and elegance of Nina Hastie – a brilliantly talented comedic performer, writer and vocal artist and “The Pundit One” – an anonymous writer from where exactly, we’re not sure…but we loved the writers’ style! The introduction of this, “New Blood” to the ZAGlamour ranks will no doubt allow us as a company and as a concept reach a wider audience, offering broader opinions on frankly just about anything. These “New Bloods” have been given free-reign of their own content, being allowed to write on anything and submit work, any time they choose. This constant influx of writing and editorials is the directions in which ZAGlamour sees itself moving…allowing for up dates to happen more frequently and on a varied spectrum of topics. Welcome to our “New Blood”, we trust you’ll enjoy your stay with us…keeping it, glamorous, of course!
Along with this change in content flux, we are also buttoning down on some incredibly clever website changes that are going to be equally beneficial for all parties concerned at ZAGlamour! These new changes will be highlighted in a future editorial from the IT Director himself, accompanied by some Layman’s Terms from the Ed here at ZAGlamour. So, stay sharp, a change is a comin’…!
This 2nd bi-monthly for July contains the following:
“The New Blood” is here and have they ever delivered on their commitment to bring new and interesting reads to the ZAGlamour Editorial Department! We trust you’ll be glued to the screen as enthusiastically as we were when initially receiving their submissions…enjoy!
- “What kind of Spin-off from the World Cup do you see South Africa having both socially and economically?” by Nina Hastie – All jokes a side, which is somewhat heard for this performing comedian, Nina divulges into what she believes this country is truly capable of and why she’s a proud South African…with a twist.
- “How do you measure success and happiness?” by ‘The Pundit One’ – Without letting too much on here, this has got to be one of the most thoughtful and comparative pieces we have ever read here at ZAGlamour…it’s refreshing to say the least.
- “A Learning Curve” by David Alves – ZAGlamour learns to check its sources a little more carefully as they discover that not everything is, as it seems with regards to the correct usage of images…now pay attention and take notes!
- “HOW TO: Change a tyre” by David Alves – It’s not as easy at you think, give it a read, I promise I won’t tell anyone you call road assistance when in trouble!
- “HOW TO: Braai a Crayfish” by David Alves – Looking for something different to do with your summer braais? Well, the sea is here to rescue you…delicious!
- “HOW TO: Make your own Biltong Box” by David Alves – Biltong, one of the oldest traditional snacks in South Africa…but why buy when you can make your own?!
- ZAGlamour’s “W.T.F. Caption Competition” takes flight – YES – Another competition, but only this time all you have to do it use your witty imagination and give a wacky looking image your funniest “Caption” and voila…you’re a WINNER!!!
- “The Hermanuspietersfontein Wine Paring at AMI” – A MUST event for all you wine fanatics…AMI Restaurant and Champagne Bar has brought the mountain to you…bookings are going fast, so get moving now!
- “Pol Roger Champagne Evening at AMI” – This is set to be there most spectacular pairing and tasting yet with some of the biggest names in the business making an appearance…be sure NOT to miss it!
- “Friday’s at The Oxford” – Here’s another Deep House bash from the people who brought you The Foundation Club experience! With rocking local DJ and gorgeous South African night-prowlers, this should be a fabulous event!
- “Streaming with ZAG” – Everyone loves a good Viral Video, well, we've been scouring the internet picking only the best for you, our Viral Glamourzoids!
ZAGlamour is calling on like-minded companies, in the industries of fashion, beauty, photography and lifestyle to contact us here at ZAGlamour as we are open for advertising – side banners, feature banners and more – we’re ready to give you and your company the ZAGlamour edge…it’s always glamorous on the other side!
This 2nd bi-monthly for July is proudly provided to you by us, The ZAGlamour Team. This “New Blood Edition” proudly shows that our doors are truly open to the South African public in all aspects from career and business promotion to writing and editorial candidness – we are committed and dedicated to the promotion of the undiscovered talent in South Africa…join us in supporting South African goodness!
Regards
